Celebrate 30 by Giving Back

BIG - JNN30-Round

In America, 1 in 5 children struggle with hunger. Jim ‘N Nick’s Community Bar-B-Q is joining thousands of restaurants nationwide to support No Kid Hungry® by raising funds in their restaurants this year. In honor of their 30th Birthday on March 23rd, Jim ‘N Nick’s is celebrating company-wide with a “Day of Giving.” They will feature their signature “Pig on a Bun” special at the original 1985 price of $2.99, but are graciously asking guests to pay $30—or an amount of their choosing—to celebrate 30 years in business. Every dollar donated beyond the cost of the $2.99-special will benefit No Kid Hungry to fight childhood hunger.

The “Pig on a Bun” features a Hickory Smoked Pulled Pork Sandwich and one trimming. The promotion is available via Dine In and Carry Out only, and runs during normal business hours on March 23, 2015, 11am – 9pm at all Jim ‘N Nick’s locations.

“We are excited to be celebrating 30 years of serving the community,” says Jim ‘N Nick’s Founder Nick Pihakis. “We wanted to do something good that says ‘thank you’ to our guests, and offers them a chance to help a great cause. We ask that you simply give what you can on March 23rd. No Kid Hungry is a phenomenal organization, and we are proud to partner with them.”

Last year, 11,000 restaurants raised $8.9 million for No Kid Hungry. No Kid Hungry funds are used to raise awareness about child hunger in the U.S., create public-private partnerships that align kids with the resources they need, support nutrition programs like School Breakfast and

Summer Meals, and educate kids and their families on how to cook healthy meals with limited resources.

“A commitment to community and partnership is exactly what it will take to help end childhood hunger in America, and we are thrilled to have Jim ‘N Nick’s support—and the support of their loyal diners—at No Kid Hungry,” said Chuck Scofield, No Kid Hungry Chief Development Officer.
